Happy April!
The flowers are starting to bloom in Chicago! That’s early for us…I usually have to remind myself, “April showers bring May flowers,” once April rolls around and everything is still dormant, but not this year!
DATE IRREGULARITIES FOR THE MONTH:
None. We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday this month. This gives us an extra yoga nidra and gentle yoga on the fifth Thursday of the month (April 30th), so you get 14 classes this month instead of 12.
COMMUNITY SESSION:
Last month we had some cancellations and didn’t end up discussing ahimsa, so we’re trying again this month! We'll meet on Sunday, April 26 at 3pm CT to discuss. If you like, you can prepare by reading the Ahimsa chapter in Deborah Adele's book, The Yamas and Niyamas: Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice but you're also welcome to just show up but it’s not required - we will also read parts of it together. Remember, this group is free, so invite anyone who you think would be interested!
NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:
Welcome back Sam and welcome Sandra! We are so excited to have Sam rejoining us after being on hiatus from The Sanctuary for a couple of years and we’re thrilled to have Sandra join us for the first time! Look for them in the Zoom room :)
AS ALWAYS:
The links to Gentle/Restorative and Dynamic Yoga are always the same, the link to Yoga Nidra is always the same, and the link to the community session is always the same, so it doesn’t really matter which date you click on - but the calendar dates are all accounted for with individual events below. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for honoring your membership level and only attending the classes you’ve registered for. We are working on the honor system! If you’d like to change your subscription level, please email me at naomi@naomifinkelstein.com.

Thursday: Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra means “yogic sleep” and is a guided, deep relaxation practice that directs the participant’s consciousness to different aspects of their being, guiding them towards a state of inner bliss and contentment. This practice can be done lying down or sitting and no movement is involved. Yoga Nidra is a surprisingly powerful practice and can bring benefits to all, including those who suffer from sleep struggles, trauma, anxiety, or depression (to any degree).
