Introductory Course
Imagine a Yoga studio where there are always options–a space where you are welcomed by friendly faces with open arms and encouraged to show up just as you are, no matter how you’re feeling or what you can do. A space without competition or pressure, where the true intention and purpose of Yoga is prioritized and celebrated…
The Intro to Yoga Course is an 8-week .
Here, you’ll be nurtured and supported to grow and expand at your own pace. It’s a refuge from the harsh pressures, judgments, and criticisms of a world steeped in diet/fitness culture, ableism, and anti-fat bias.
With 18 monthly classes available to you, it’s your one-stop-shop for Dynamic, Restorative, and Chair Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and community connection. Your participation is entirely up to you—no requirements and no expectations. We’ll honor and prioritize all of your many layers: the physical, energetic, mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual bodies while practicing Yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, and conscious relaxation.

Two Ways to Join
1. Start with the Intro Course
This path is the way to go if you are new to Yoga or haven’t received much instruction. It’s an eight-week course that meets twice a week where we will ease into the practice slowly and with lots of explanation. There will be time for questions and feedback. Once you complete your Intro Course, you are invited to roll your registration right into a membership in The Sanctuary to continue with our community.
UPCOMING DATES:
Classes meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00-7:15pm central time and will be recorded if you can’t make it live. You are also invited to join Restorative Yoga/Yoga Nidra on Tuesday nights, as well as The Sanctuary’s twice monthly Community Sessions, which meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.
Spring: Monday, May 1 - Monday, June 26 (no class on Mon., May 29th)
Fall: Thursday, October 5 - Monday, December 4 (no class on Mon., Oct. 9 or Thurs., Nov. 23)

FAQs
What style of Yoga do you teach?
I teach a style of Hatha Yoga that is largely informed by the Sivananda sequence. This style begins with pranayama (breathing exercises) and sun salutations and is followed by a set of 12 asanas (postures). Each of the asanas are extremely adaptable and can be done in many different ways. Although I don’t usually teach all 12 asanas in a given class, I typically do follow some version of it when I teach.
I have a chronic condition and I’m worried that I won’t be able to keep up or that I’ll hurt myself.
Please reach out to me and let me know what’s going on. As a Yoga Therapist, I have experience working with people with many different conditions and illnesses and I may have experience with yours. After discussing it over email, you might also decide that you’d like to schedule one or two one-on-one sessions before joining the group classes. We can explore your concerns together and find solutions to the things you’re concerned about. Also keep in mind that you don’t ever have to “keep up”. Each person is encouraged to go at their own pace and to take care of themselves lovingly and generously at all times. I celebrate people when I see them resting and doing their own thing!
I have experience with Yoga from many years ago but it’s been a long time and my body is very different now. Should I do the Intro Course or the Membership?
If you are easing back into a practice, I would go for the Intro Course. Why not give yourself some extra space and time to get reacquainted with your body? I know from experience that it can be physically and emotionally challenging to get moving again when it’s been a while. The intimacy and connection of the Intro Course will be a perfect support for you
Is it possible to try a class out and see if it’s a good fit for me before committing?
Yes! Please contact me, let me know you’d like to try a class, and I’ll get you all squared away.
