Move and Mingle

Join us as we move together and connect in community.

2nd Sundays, 4-6pm CST

Once a month, we gather on Zoom to connect with community and practice together. Our sessions start with an hour of community connection. I’ll always come with guiding questions to inspire discussion around the journey of pursuing better wellbeing outside of the weight loss paradigm, but the conversation is fluid and goes in whatever direction participants are inspired to take it. Breakout rooms are also available for those who want to connect with others who share a common condition, such as diabetes and chronic pain.

At 5pm CT we begin our practice for the month. Themes for practice follow the schedule below but are subject to change, based on the interest of those in attendance on a given day.

Interested in one of the hours but not both? No problem! Feel free to register and come and go when you please. The price will be the same regardless of how long you spend with us. If you need a reduced rate due to financial strain, please contact me.

This space is designed to be free from the typical narratives we encounter in wellness spaces (namely, that the pursuit of wellness must be tied to the pursuit of weight loss). In order to make the space as comfortable as possible for people of all sizes and experiences, we follow the guidelines shown to the right. At the start of each session, we’ll briefly go over them together, giving participants the opportunity to add any that feel important and relevant.

FAQ

Q: I’ve never done Yoga before. Is it okay if I join?

A: It depends on the type of class, which alternates each month. The only class I would steer away from as a beginner is the dynamic class, unless you have a dance/gymnastics/sports history, are very comfortable in your body, and can easily follow verbal/visual cues. In general, I don’t recommend virtual group classes for people who are brand new to yoga, unless it’s specifically a class for beginners, which this is not. However, the chair yoga and gentle yoga classes are both gentle enough to be fine for newbies, and the Yoga Nidra and Meditation don’t involve movement at all.

Q: I registered for a session but then I missed it. Can I apply my registration to the next month?

A: Your registration is only good for the next date on the calendar. Unfortunately I do not allow transfers, except in the case of emergencies. I do this both to provide more incentive for you to prioritize attending, and also to keep things simple for me logistically.

Q: Can I register for more than one session at a time?

A: Due to logistical complexity, I much prefer that you register each month, one class at a time. Thank you!

Q: Can I register on behalf of someone else?

A: Yes. Please contact me after registering with your name and email address, along with the name and email address of the person who will be attending. If you’d like to register for both you and another person, simply purchase two tickets and let me know who will be attending in your email.
