FAQ

Q: I really don't know what I need to do to be well, that's why I need a coach. Will you guide me?

A: I believe your body contains the wisdom it needs to find your version of wellness, so I would never presume to know what's best for you. My goal is to empower you to build a trusting relationship with your body so that you can consistently and confidently tune into and rely on its wisdom. These are the skills that will support you for the rest of your life to continue achieving the wellness you desire, well beyond the time you spend with me.  I'm here to offer lots of ideas and resources when you want them (including my knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda, Intuitive Eating, and body image) to support you in your decisions, and help you reflect and learn. ​

Q: What if I want to lose weight?

I very much understand the desire to lose weight and I know that many people pursue wellness with that goal in mind, however, I coach with a different mindset.  The goals that we establish for you will be based on behaviors, not outcomes. I will help you with your fitness, nutrition, and many other aspects of your wellness, supporting you to  establish consistent, health-promoting practices into your life. Sometimes these practices result in weight loss and sometimes they don't, but I find that when people are focused on their weight, they are less likely to maintain the habits they establish. With the number on the scale as your measure of success, the odds of becoming discouraged are high, as is the threat of weight cycling. With my approach and support, you will see that your wellness is not dependent on your weight (even if your doctor says it is!) If you would like more information and education around this approach, I am happy to share resources with you. I am also happy to offer coaching sessions that are dedicated to this topic.  

Q: Do you offer packages that include both coaching and yoga?

A: Yes! Please click on the Wellness Coaching link at the top of this page to  see coaching packages that include free bonus yoga sessions. You can also purchase four yoga sessions and four coaching sessions at once to get an additional free yoga session.

Q: How much does it cost?

Q: I can't afford your fees but I strongly feel that you are the right coach for me. Do you offer a sliding scale?

A: I do have some equity pricing spots available at any given time, which are reserved for people who would not be able to receive this kind of support otherwise. You can contact me for more details.

Q: How long will we work together?

A:  I  begin by helping you to create your Wellness Vision, which is different for each individual. Some people create a vision that they want to realize within a year, others look further into the future. Regardless of how far ahead you're looking, we'll then create your first round of 3-month goals that will get you moving towards your vision. I recommend that you commit to at least three months in the beginning, and then you can decide if you want to continue working together after that. I do ask that you commit to meeting for a minimum of four sessions to begin with. Contact me for a free initial consultation and to learn more.
